What: TMEA All-State Choir Trip and Performance Information
Who: High School Students who are part of the Texas All-State Choir
When: Wednesday, February 12th through Sunday, February 16th, 2020
Where: Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center (TMEA Conference Location)
Hyatt Regency- Riverwalk (Hotel Accommodations)
Time: On Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 meet at the DFW airport departure gate (gate information to be announced upon the date of departure) at 6:40 a.m. for an 8:40 a.m. flight on American Airlines 1358.
On Sunday, February 16th, 2020 our American Flight 35 is scheduled to land at 3:37 p.m. Please pick up your All-State student at this time at the DFW arrival gate (gate information to be announced upon the date of return).
Transportation – Students will fly to San Antonio on Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 and back to Dallas on Sunday, February 16th, 2020. We will meet at the DFW airport on Wednesday and students are to be picked up from the DFW airport on Sunday. See above for departure and arrival times and instructions.
What to bring: All-State music in black binder, pencil, and pen. Any homework assignments they need to complete before their return to school on February 17th, 2020. Clothing and toiletries for the five days in San Antonio, any snacks they would like to bring and that will fit in their one checked bag, and any spending money they would like to bring.
What costs are covered for your student? Flight, hotel, transportation to and from the airport in San Antonio, and meals for the entire stay (in San Antonio).
What costs are not covered? All State Plaque, TMEA All-State attire, and costs for any extra activities (shopping at the mall, Ripley’s Believe it or not, haunted house, etc.)
Concert attire: PLEASE ensure that your child has their formal uniform in good shape. Dress must be hemmed; tux and Dress must be dry cleaned. Also please make sure your student has the appropriate dress shoes. Ladies must have black pumps or flats (no tennis shoes or boots). I am trusting that these students will have this taken care of.
Performance information: The Texas All-State Mixed Choir Concert will take place at the convention center (Hemisfair Ballroom 3) from 12 noon until 1:15 p.m. Each student has four tickets for admittance. Please know that people start lining up for this concert very early. The ticket holders are admitted first and then non-ticket holders are admitted. Please plan on arriving early.
At 7 p.m. There will be a group picture and dinner with the All-Staters
