MS Tenor/Bass & Treble UIL- March 30th

Hello parents, guardians, and students!

First, I wanted to say thank you for being so supportive and flexible with the additional rehearsals this past month. We have made much progress throughout the few weeks! Pre UIL this past week was very successful as we came back with a lot of great takeaways!

Here is how the week is going to look for the MS tenor/basses.

Tenor/Basses:

Monday, March 28th: We have a short rehearsal from 4:15 pm-5:15 pm. Please note this has changed from 6:00 pm to 5:15 pm.

Wednesday, March 30th: This is the big day—Middle School UIL! The GPFAA Tenor/Basses are the first groups to sing for the day. So that means our day will begin just a tab earlier than normal. So, to be there on time, I will need your student at school no later than 7:20 am in their formal attire (taking the school bus to and from). On the day of Pre-UIL, not all students came dressed, so this delayed our plan. Please make sure your student comes dressed, we will do a quick warmup and leave shortly. Leaving this early will give us enough time to plan for any morning traffic and school zones. The location of this contest will be held at the Arlington ISD Center for Visual and Performing Arts, in Arlington.

If you are needing to find a ride, please let me know and I will do my best to find a carpool for your student. And if you are able to help with a carpool, let me know as well! If you are needing to drop your student off any earlier that is just fine, the school doors open at 7:00 am.

Please make sure your student brings a sack lunch with them on this day. We plan to be back at school no later than 2:00 pm, giving enough time to be back for their last few classes and regular parent pick up.

If you are willing to help chaperone for the day, please fill out this link.

Attire checks: These are just a few things to keep in mind.

· Socks-  students need a long black dress socks.

· Shoes- student must wear their black dress shoe, no tennis shoes.

· Shirts- since they have already worn their shirts, make sure it is nicely pressed and refreshed.

· Tux pants & vest- since you cannot iron these materials, feel free to steam these items.

· Hair- make sure your student’s hair looks fresh/clean and out of the eyes. Those with longer hair may need to pull it back or use some type of product to keep it still.

Trebles:

Wednesday, March 30th:

The GPFAA Treble’s will need to be at school no later than 7:45 am in their formal attire (taking school bus to and from). Leaving/meeting this early will give us enough time to plan for any morning traffic and school zones. The location of this contest will be held at the Arlington ISD Center for Visual and Performing Arts, in Arlington.

Please make sure your student brings a sack lunch with them on this day. We plan to be back at school no later than 2:00 pm, giving enough time to be back for their last few classes and regular parent pick up.
