Information about Solo and Ensemble:
Solo & Ensemble Festival is an opportunity for individual students from member schools to perform a selection of their choice for adjudication. Each student or group of students is evaluated by one judge and rated on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the highest rating possible. Students or groups earning a rating of 1 (or “Superior”) are qualified for State Solo & Ensemble Festival, held in May. Participating students that earn a rating of 1 in the Regional level (Saturday, March 4th contest) are eligible to receive medals.
When: Saturday, March 4th, 2023
Who: All HS Vocal Music Students
Time: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (Parents/Students, please be flexible on return time. Like other contests, it can be a bit before or a bit after.)
Transportation: District Bus. Parents must fill out an alternate form if you are: 1. Providing your own transportation to the event 2. Being picked up from the event. Fill out the form no later than Wednesday, March 2nd.
Location: I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM and VPA (Fort Worth)
Chaperones: We will need chaperones to help with this day.

What to bring:
· Bring your solo sheet music that you have been practicing with and know your singing key. Also, know what book your solo is in. We must have an original book.
· Bring a sack lunch/snacks. There might be a concession stand, but do not depend on the concession stand for a lunch meal.
What to Wear:
· Solo attire – look professional, no tennis shoes, no jeans, no heels, and clothes must be pressed/ironed. Treble singers – if you are wearing a dress, make sure your dress is at district dress code length. Tenor/Basses must wear a long sleeve with a tie.
