Parents,
The first UIL eligibility check is Friday, September 25th, 2020. This means, as of that date, your student must have a passing grade in every class in order to compete in UIL competitions and auditions (including the TMEA All-State audition process). I have been in communication with those students who are currently not passing one or more of their classes. Parents, please help us to make sure everyone is eligible by checking your student’s grades. Please be proactive as teachers also need time to grade and update before deadlines. If your child is struggling in any subject(s), please have them communicate this with me. I will work with your child and their teachers to see what steps need to take place in order for them to earn a passing grade.
Thank you so much for your time and attention with this. The goal is for ALL of our Vocal Music Students to be UIL eligible so they can participate fully in this semester’s choral competitions. Again, please contact me if you have any questions regarding UIL eligibility or if your child is struggling to maintain a passing grade (70% or above) in their classes. Together we will reach our goal of 100% UIL eligibility!
Mr. Duarte
